All Saints Sunday - October 28th: Join us to celebrate all the saints in our lives, known and unknown. Sure, the church has named quite a few, but this is also a time to honour those we cherish and love. Come, be with us, as we remember the gifts of Elders, Mentors, Lovers, Friends, and Family with whom we have shared this life’s journey. Bring a photo of the one you love. Light a candle in remembrance. Names will be read out at the service. If you wish to submit names, please contact the church office via e-mail (st.jamesfergus@wightman.ca) or telephone (519-843-2141).

Call To Action: The next date for our Lunch and Learn is this Sunday, October 21st, following the 10:30 am service. Everyone is welcome to participate and learn more about the story of Indigenous People in Canada.

Our next Taizé Service is on Wednesday, October 24th at 7pm. Take time out and join us for an ecumenical service of song, prayer and meditation held in the beauty of candlelight. Our theme this month is Chaos. This service is held at 7pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month (except July/August).

Coffee Shop Bible Study - Monday, October 29th: We will meet at The Vault Coffee and Espresso Bar at 101 St. Andrew Street W, Fergus, at 11am for an hour of snacks and study focused on the upcoming week’s lectionary readings. Everyone is welcome!

Outreach Annual Pasta Lunch will be held on Sunday, November 4th immediately after the 10:30 am service. This is a fundraiser for the Adopt-a-Family at Christmas programme. Sign-up sheets are available for contributions of 8 salads and 8 pasta dishes. Donations can be made as a free-will offering at the lunch. All are invited to attend and enjoy a great social time and lunch.

Gift Cards: Thank you to those who are continuing to use the gift cards and to those who are new supporters. There were 15 people who ordered gift cards for October. Profit this year so far is $1,593.44. If anyone wants more information about this fundraiser, please see Linda Webster. Next Order Date: Sunday, November 4th.

Centre Wellington Food Bank needs canned soup, canned tomatoes, peanut butter, canned veggies, rice and pasta side dishes. Please leave donations in the baskets in the narthex. Thank you for your continued support.

Our Christmas Bazaar is coming up on Saturday, December 1st so it is time to start gathering up new items that can be used in our baskets, craft table and penny tables.  There will be a basket in the narthex for your donations.  Once again thank you for all your contributions in helping to make this successful.

Have you filled out your “Staying Connected” form for the church? “Staying Connected,” once filled out and signed, allows your church family to keep in contact in the event you are hospitalized or moved from your residence for care. It gives us access to your next of kin and gives them permission to keep us ‘in the loop’ when you are receiving extra care. It also gives you the option to inform us of any end-of-life plans you may have arranged and wish observed. Without this type of form, privacy law can be an obstacle to our pastoral teams “staying connected” when you need us most. Drop by the office or pick up a form at the back of the church!
