 St. James Anglican Church

The "Need to Knows"

Welcome to St. James'! We are so glad you're on our website, and we hope to meet you soon. Below are some "Need to Knows" that should answer some immediate questions you might have. Feel free to browse around the rest of the website to learn more about us!

Who is the Pastoral Team?

Rev. Ann Turner is our Rector. Click Here to get to know a bit about her!

How is St. James' different than other churches?

St. James' has been located in the heart of the Fergus community for over 150 years, having moved to its present home on Queen Street East in 1948. One of the distinct things about our church is the community’s openness to explore spiritual practice. Care for Creation is also an important part of who we are as a faith community. There's a place for you here, and we look forward to seeing you soon. Click Here to learn more about us.

Our church is located at 171 Queen Street East, Fergus, N1M 2W7 (Get Directions).

What can I expect ‘at Church’?

We have two worship services on Sundays. One is Anglican Traditional in style (no music, Book of Common Prayer), and one is Contemporary in style (choir, hymns, organ or guitars). On Wednesday evenings, we gather for an opportunity to explore various spiritual practices. Click Here to find out more about Oasis.

How do I get involved?

There are many ways to get involved. Here are four of them:

  1. Come to a worship service on Sunday.
  2. Look into joining us one Wednesday at Taizé or Oasis.
  3. Get involved with our Community Garden.
  4. Find an opportunity — Here, Near or Far — to serve in and with the community.
